It has a Totally Enclosed enclosure that protects the motor from harsh environments because air does not pass freely through the motor. The Super-E motor has an insulation system that meets the requirements of NEMA MG1 Part 31.4.4.2 for VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) use and is considered Not inverter.
